Menswear brand Remus Uomo launches new ‘Modern Life’ collection
By Ross Semple
Menswear Brand of the Year, Remus Uomo has used a range of influences in the creation of their latest collection for Autumn/Winter 2017. The new range encompasses themes and motifs from the Art Moderne movement of the 1930’s, the timeless style of the 70’s, alongside touches of the ‘sports-luxe’ trend, to create a rich and contemporary collection.
The need for greater comfort in what men wear every day continues to gain momentum and our latest collection offers comfort and flexibility in wear through key layering pieces inspired by elements of this sports-luxe look.
The trend is referenced across the collection, which includes jersey outerwear, stretch suiting and shirting and feature drawstring and double pleat trousers.
The non-conformist flavour of the new collection is further reflected in the use of bold pattern across the range. Art-Deco inspired geometrics can be seen across formal and casual tailoring with printed wool fabrics in jackets and elsewhere, in suit linings and trim details. The theme makes for easy co-ordination across the range using similar motifs in shirts and knitwear.
Key designs include houndstooth, deco-inspired geometrics and abstracts in print and jacquard. This pattern story is evident throughout the collection from tailoring and structured outerwear, jacquard knits, printed shirtings, down to the fine details of linings and trim.
The core masculine colour palette of navy, blue, grey and charcoal are accented and deepened by claret, forest green and just a hint of caramel to add seasonal interest across the collection.
