Missy Elliott performs at Alexander Wang x H&M runway show

This week the Alexander Wang x H&M collection debuted on the runway in New York. The Armory in NYC was transformed into a track and field stadium for the global launch and a plethora of celebs came to watch the fashion and games, including Jessica Chastain and Dakota Fanning.

Missy Elliot popped up to perform Get Ur Freak On and Work It – one thing we’re sure we can agree on is that it’s always time for a bit of Queen Missy. Free runners climbed the set; giant foam fingers waggled from the crowd and a smorgasbord of performances (from Madonna’s new producer Diplo and hip-hop artist Sharaya J) made the show a full-on spectacle that got everyone talking on social media.

The collection is a great fusion of performance-wear pieces mixed with futuristic nuances and more fun elements. Alexander nod to fashion’s resurgent obsession with branding and labels by emblazoning ‘WANG’ on everything from jumpers to socks. While the male models showed off their muscles, we pried our eyes away just long enough to decide that this H&M collection is going to be heavily sought-after – we guarantee everyone will be clamouring to pick up pieces when it hits stores and online on November 6.
