M&S launch Savile Row-inspired personal tailoring service

SAVILE ROW INSPIRED, PERSONAL TAILORING2

M&S have launched a ‘Savile Row’-inspired personal tailoring service, which allows you to get a suit custom-made for you with all the trimmings (literally ALL of them, I’m not joking).

I went for a bespoke fitting, where the dedicated team helped me to pick from over 1500 fabrics and 100 styling options – their careful, conscientious guidance (and occasional nudge in the right direction) helped me through my sartorial choices, making sure I never felt overwhelmed at any point.

I was tempted to unleash my inner Northern fashion boy and go for all the bells and whistles (I wanted all things shiny and all things bright – so provincial) but I managed to restrain myself and opt for a more subtle suit… only then to be told the editor before me had picked bright pink felt and violet check for his suit. I should have gone all out….

Scott Fife, the chain’s Director of Menswear, said that M&S are “constantly looking to meet the needs of a broad range of customers who are shopping for suits of all kinds of occasions”. This is definitely the case, as you’re able to create everything from the classic (herringbone check, three-piece black tuxes) down to modernised slimline tailoring with bright pops of colour in the detailing.

This service is available at M&S’s flagship store at London’s Marble Arch.

Here’s a little picture from the fitting – don’t I look smart?
