Mutya Keisha Siobhan to return using Sugababes name?
By Nick Levine
Mutya Keisha Siobhan are to return later this summer as “Sugababes”, according to a report published in a tabloid newspaper yesterday (May 18).
The reunited original Sugababes – Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy – released their comeback single Flatline last September (2013) – but there has been no sign of a follow-up single or album announcement.
In March the group insisted that they had some “great news” coming, but this has yet to be revealed. No tweets have been sent from the official Mutya Keisha Siobhan Twitter account since March 23.
Now a “source” has apparently told The People:
“The girls have changed label, got new management and are getting ready to release their new single in the summer as Sugababes. It’s been a messy battle legally but MKS are now no more.”
A group featuring Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen have most recently used the Sugababes name, but they haven’t released any new music since 2010 and Ewen revealed last September that Sugababes effectively split in 2012, telling our friends at Digital Spy: “We kind of fizzled out about two years ago.”
Meanwhile, a snippet of an unreleased MKS song called Today leaked earlier this month (May) – click here to listen to it.
