Review| All the action from Milan Fashion Week

By Joseph Kocharian

DSquared2 merged great Britain with Japan and as per usual it was a festival for our eyes, as we had plenty to take in from the Canadian duo. Supersized anorak came in kimono-inspired fabrics with embroidered satin and leather. The magpie in menswear fashion continued its trend with metallic making it’s way into the DSquared2 collection, with crumpled silver nylon peacoats, along with long and oversized outerwear.

Japanese flowers beaded on t-shirts and bombers, zips on everything and the brand’s signature busy denim with shirts tied around the waists gave Dean and Dan’s Japanese warrior a thoroughly DSquared2 punk army uniform. High shine. High octane. We love.

Versace took us to the moon and the stars with their interstellar collection. Everything from sweatshirts with light up piping, fibre optic tracksuits and  space-age metallic outerwear, such as flying jackets, and trenches, we wanted to take a voyage to planet Versace.  The already iconic astrological print from the brand has been reworked, with a star map Medusa print added in for good measure. There was a constellation of  fantastic clean bright white looks, with roll necks, shearlings and tracksuits.

Paler hues such as light blue and and lilac kept things crisp and clean, with embellishments of ‘space debris’ and metallic adding depth to the collection. Donatella said “The Versace man is a pioneer, his ambition as big as the universe. This is a collection for men who are totally real, totally bold and totally connected with the future.” With chunky bright white kicks and tech cycling boots. There is plenty to get you excited in the Versace universe.

Calvin Klein Collection were feeling the monochrome and metallic vibe the same as their Milan show counterparts, with gold weathered white jeans and bronze cummerbunds, paired with sleek suiting sans shirts. the sleek and clean suiting met up with metallic hooded puffer jackets with the iconic Calvin Klein waistband on show.
