RuPaul questions whether Drag Race is the right place for transgender queens
The Drag Race host isn't sure whether he'd accept a contestant who had transitioned

RuPaul has revealed that that he’s not sure whether transgender queens should compete on Drag Race.
The legendary Drag Star has judged a number of pre-transition transgender contestants on the show, but he’s admitted that he’s not sure drag really works if the queen already has a female body.
Calling trans drag an “interesting area,” RuPaul revealed he wasn’t sure when asked whether he’d allow post-transition trans queens to be on the show.
“Probably not. You can identify as a woman and say you’re transitioning, but it changes once you start changing your body.
“It takes on a different thing; it changes the whole concept of what we’re doing. ‘We’ve had some girls who’ve had some injections in the face and maybe a little bit in the butt here and there, but they haven’t transitioned.”
RuPaul went on to claim that drag loses its ‘danger’ when it’s not men doing it, saying: “At its core it’s a social statement and a big f-you to male-dominated culture.
“So for men to do it, it’s really punk rock, because it’s a real rejection of masculinity.”
