Shaun Leane, NAT team up on limited edition brooches

By Joseph Kocharian

Iconic British fine jewellery designer Shaun Leane (who was responsible for Nicole Scherzinger’s famous metal glove moment on The X Factor) has teamed up with the National AIDS Trust (NAT) to create a series of limited edition red ribbon brooches – it’s part of NAT’s campaign to increase awareness of HIV in the lead-up to World AIDS Day on December 1.

Shaun Leane, who always manages to combine wearability with a sense of modern romance, has delivered beautifully here: his special design is a classic red ribbon centred with a pear-shaped red Swarovski crystal.

There are 25 limited edition brooches to bid for, and you have until November 23 to do so. Place your bid here.

Shaun says of the collaboration: “It was an honour to have been asked to help contribute to this wonderful charity. It is a cause close to my heart as I have lost some dear friends in the past to the virus. Supporting charities such as the National AIDS Trust only brings us closer to a world without HIV. The red ribbon is a well-supported and recognised motif so we wanted to retain the integrity of this powerful emblem.”

The brooches form part of NAT’s wider World AIDS Day campaign, encouraging the British public to put a ribbon on landmarks, people, clothes, buildings, food and tweeting the results to @NAT_AIDS_Trust with the hashtag #PutARibbonOnIt.
