The ever-dreamy Mr. Gosling recently attended the SXSW Film Festival to discuss his new movie Lost River, his debut as a director. We like Ryan in front of the camera, especially when he turns up looking this good (note the Zayn Malik fringe moment) but we’re also looking forward to seeing his directorial debut!

Ryan’s doing the red carpet casual, harking back to his wardrobe from the film Drive, with a great two-tone jacket teamed with a white t-shirt, ditsy necklace and black trousers. He’s got his colours correct here: with iridescent fabrics such as satin, it’s best to go for a jewel colour (think dark ruby reds, sapphire blues and emerald forest greens) then pair it with a simple cream, black, white or grey t-shirt to keep it neutral and chic.

Black trousers and shoes again help make this look expensive and keep the main event all about the jacket. If you’re not used to jewellery, a ditsy necklace like the one Ryan is sporting is a good first dip into the ocean of accessories – you can get some really great ones from Topman and River Island, which means you’re not paying a lot of money for a fashion risk. It’s subtle, but adds a little bit more to your look.
