Sky Ferreira hires Lady Gaga’s ex-manager
By Josh Haggis
Sky Ferreira has revealed on Facebook that she’s hired Lady Gaga’s ex-manager Troy Carter.
Gaga fired her long-time manager Carter back in November of last year out of the blue. Carter had been with Gaga since the start of her career, and is credited with helping shape her career and aiding her meteoric rise to fame over the past five years.
The official response to the controversial split was “creative differences”.
Sky’s hiring of Carter follows the release of her debut album Night Time, My Time, which reached number 45 on the US Billboard album charts back in October of last year. The album is being prepped for release in the UK on March 17.
Sky revealed the news in a post on her official Facebook page, saying “I’m now managed by Troy Carter & atom factory. New year, new beginnings. So excited.”
The long-delayed album has received glowing reviews, with Pitchfork saying “Night Time, My Time is not only here, but that it’s one of the most pleasingly conventional and cohesive pieces of pop-rock to come along this year.”
