For the month of May, Attitude online will be showing off the best of the best of 2015’s sporting heroes. Here, we give you the low-down on Briain’s hottest slice of ball-bashing beef, rugby league footballer Stuart Reardon…

Top sporting achievement: Currently playing for the North Wales Crusaders (typically as fullback, wing or centre), Stu played for England National Rugby League team in 2003, before representing Great Britain in the 2004 Tri Nations series.

Better Half: Apparently ‘taken’ by some girl called Emma – not that we’re jealous, you know…

Best Attribute: Quite literally impossible to choose. I mean, JUST LOOK AT IT.

Sporting Quote: “I started playing Rugby League at 10 years old. I got into it through friends but instantly like the competitiveness of rugby, the training involved, the skill and discipline it teaches you, the highs of winning and the lows of losing, the camaraderie of team sports and sports in general is great for anyone to be involved in. It’s played a big part in shaping me into the person I am today.”

Special Weapon: He’s a triple threat: Away from the game, he’s carved out a formidable career as a model and is thinking of adding acting to that mightily impressive CV.

Style: Since he turned his hand to modelling, you’d be hard pressed to find Stu wearing anything more than a pair of y-fronts and his tribal tattoos. And who are we to complain.

Training Tip: “I spend on Average 2 hours a day in the gym, an hour for weights and an hour for cardio – probably more as I’m really addicted to training I always have been from a young age. I love all kinds of Training, boxing, Muay thai, wrestling, MMA.”

In The Game: An all-rounder with hands like glue and explosive pace off the wing, the 33-year-old has that most important of strengths: he’s a big finisher, renowned for scoring the all-important tries during matches.

Wins:
2012: Won the double with ASC Carcasonne in France (French Elite League champions and French Cup Elite Cup winners).
2013: Won the double with North wales Crusaders (Championship 1 champions and Champion Bowl Cup winners).

Attitude: He’s a man who makes a stand, saying of playing in countries with anti-gay laws: “If I was a gay athlete I think it would send a stronger message to go. Being in the public eye, you have a wider opportunity to voice your opinion to a wider audience and send a positive message.” Aw, Stu…
