Tough Mudder transforms London’s East End for one day only

Londoners were treated to something a bit out of the ordinary this week when notorious obstacle race Tough Mudder set up a temporary residence in the capital’s East End.
Transforming the aptly-named Mudchute into ‘Mudderchute’ for one day only on Tuesday (January 24) organisers called on ordinary Londoners to escape the ordinary with a smaller-scale course around Mudchute Park and Farm, which served as the first-ever official Tough Mudder training event.
Founded in the US in 2010, events in the infamous endurance series see participants attempt 10–12 mile-long military-style obstacle course, attracting between 10,000 and 15,000 participants per event.
The Mudderchute course also gave Londoners a glimpse at several new obstacles set to feature in events in 2017, including Augustus Gloop, Kong and Funky Monkey – The Revolution.
