Ultimate Fighting Champion fighter apologises after branding rival a ‘fag’

American Ultimate Fighting Champion fighter Donald Cerrone has apologised for using an anti-gay slur to describe heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier’s performance at a recent fight.
Cerrone came under fire for saying Cormier fought “like a fag”. Cerrone shared his apology on Instagram, but it has since been deleted. However the tweet which links to the now-deleted post still remains.

According to a report on the Washington Post, the Instagram post read: “Earlier today, I said something that was offensive & I’m truly sorry. I’ve got so many friends and fans in the LGBTQ community who I let down today. I can and will be better because I respect the community and equality matters! #WeAreAllFighters”.
