Watch Brooke Candy’s terrifying ‘Opulence’ video
Ridiculously fierce rapper Brooke Candy has unveiled the video for her new single, Opulence.
The LA native, who first found success online, has featured on songs by hipster popstars Grimes and Charli XCX. Opulence is her first official release since she signed a major label record deal with Columbia and was co-written with Sia Furler and produced by Diplo.
The accompanying video was directed by famed fashion photographer Steven Klein, and styled by ex-Lady Gaga collaborator Nicola Formichetti, and sees Candy reference her early days as a stripper.
In the clip 24-year-old Candy, who is gay, kills a man in a bathroom before taking his money and launching into the song.
There are also visually arresting scenes of the rapper dressed in various bejewelled outfits, crashing a car, wearing revealing underwear and rocking scary amounts of face glitter.
Candy, who is currently working on her debut album with Sia as executive producer, releases the Opulence EP on May 5th. The track listing is as follows:
01. Opulence
02. Pop Rock
03. Bed Squeak
04. Feel Yourself (feat Cory Enemy)
05. Godzillionaire
