Watch Idina Menzel sing classic ‘Rent’ song for AIDS charity
By Nick Levine

Idina Menzel and the cast of her new Broadway musical performed Seasons of Love from Rent for charity last night (April 12). Watch below.
After yesterday’s performance of If/Then, Menzel and her castmates offered a lucky audience member at the Richard Rodgers Theatre the chance to join them on stage, where he or she would be serenaded with the much-loved song from Rent.
Two audience members bid $4,000 (£2,400) each and duly joined Menzel and the company on stage, raising $8,000 (£4,800) for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Both Menzel and her If/Then castmate Anthony Rapp were part of the original Broadway cast of Rent in 1996 – and the two productions also share the same director, Michael Greif.
If/Then, a new musical which follows two different realities, based on Menzel’s character’s different life choices, opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on March 30.
