Another of Roald Dahl’s granddaughters comes out
This second granddaughter of beloved children’s author Roald Dahl, Chloe, has come out by announcing her engagement to Nikki Booth, a Hawaiian restaurateur.
The Daily Mail reports that Roald’s daughter Lucy, the mother of Chloe, is thrilled by the happy news.
“I could not be more delighted and excited about these two exceptional young women,” Lucy said.
“They are like puppies from the same litter in their love for one another and their example of two young, hard-working, beautiful women. Proud is an understatement.”
Captioned with “mad love for this one”, an image posted to Chloe’s Instagram account shows her hand in hand with Booth and tagged in Martha’s Vineyard, a popular summer holiday destination.
The Daily Mail adds the couple, who opened a restaurant in Los Angeles last year, plan to tie the knot in America, where same-sex was legalised across all 50 states in a landmark Supreme Court ruling back in June.
The news follows that of Chloe’s older sister Phoebe, 26, who last year announced her engagement to Australian model and actress Ruby Rose, star of Orange Is The New Black.
At the time, Phoebe said her famous grandfather would have been accepting of her sexuality despite coming “from a different era”.
