B-52’s singer Kate Pierson weds partner in Hawaii

B-52’s singer Kate Pierson has married her long time partner in a beautiful Hawaiian wedding ceremony over the weekend.

Sharing pictures to her social media accounts, 67-year old Pierson is pictured with her bride Monica Coleman donning traditional Hawaiian leis against the backdrop of lush tropical scenery with the caption “#itsofficial!”.

E! News reported the wedding was attended by the entire B52s band, with Sia Furler performing Crush Me with Your Love – a song she co-wrote on Pierson’s first-ever solo album, Guitars and Microphones, which was released earlier this year. Furler also acted as a witness alongside husband Erik Anders.

Pierson also posted an up-close selfie with her new wife following the reception, captioned “Married now!”, and showing the beaming couple.

The island paradise seems to the wedding destination of the season. Just yesterday, Attitude reported Kiwi speed skater Blake Skjellerup married his partner Saul Carrasco in a Hawaiian seaside ceremony.
