Planning your wedding: The timeline

12 months before: 
Agree on a budget
Draw up a guest list
Book ceremony and reception venue
Give notice of your wedding at the Registry Office
Book the Registrar and Celebrant (if you want one)
Set a date and email a ‘save-the-date’

10-11 months before:
Book your suppliers (photographers, videographers, caterers, band, DJ, wedding cake, drinks, florist etc.)

Book the honeymoon and wedding night accommodation
Plan your service with your minister or celebrant

7 months before:
Choose the rings
Organise a gift list
Order invitations

6 months before:
Arrange wedding suits
Book wedding transport
Buy favours and thank-you gifts
Send out invitations and print wedding stationery (place cards, favours and seating plan)

3 months before:
Inform caterers of final numbers
Choose your wedding dance

2 weeks before:
Brief the photographer
Review your music/band playlist
Finalise the seating plan

1-2 days before:
Get groomed
Rehearse
