Caitlyn Jenner has been left “disappointed” with Donald Trump’s presidency.
In an appearance on Fox News with Tucker Carlson, Caitlyn gave her thoughts on Donald Trump’s first 100 days as president, with reference to his lack of progress with LGBT+ issues. “I thought Trump would be pretty good,” Caitlyn said, “but he’s disappointed me in the first 100 days on those issues.”
US President Donald Trump signed away parts of an executive order protecting LGBT federal workers against discrimination in March.
Carlson asked Jenner, who admits to voting for Trump, about Trump’s stance on LGBT+ issues, she said that her loyalty lies with neither Donald Trump nor the Republican party, but with “[her] community.”
However, she immediately contradicted herself when asked why she didn’t vote for the pro-LGBT+ Hillary Clinton by saying that she’s not a “one issue voter.”
“I believe in limited government. I believe in our Constitution,” she told Carlson. “I would rather convince the Republican party to do a better job when it comes to all LGBT issues than to try to convince the Democrats to lower taxes and lower regulations and let our country thrive financially.”
“Isn’t there a lot of pressure on you specifically to be a one issue voter?” asked Carlson, seemingly unaware that LGBT+ people are impacted by a variety of social and economic issues.
“I totally agree with you,” Caitlyn responded, adding that being a trans Republican has been “pretty tough”.
Caitlyn’s ex-wife Kris Jenner recently slammed Caitlyn’s claims that she knew her ex-husband was trans years before she came out.
In a preview clip from Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the momager rants at Khloe and Kim Kardashian about their father’s shocking remarks.
She says: “Everything she says, it’s all made up. Why does everything have to be that Kris is such a bitch and an asshole?”
