Colton Haynes is returning to Teen Wolf for the fantasy drama’s final season, and he’s certainly back with a bang.
Colton’s character Jackson has been absent from the show for the last few seasons, but he’s back, and he’s in a relationship with Ethan (Charlie Carver).
In a new clip from an upcoming episode, the pair’s anniversary doesn’t quite go to plan, as they get into a spot of bother in London.
After an altercation leaves Ethan injured, Jackson comes to the rescue by removing a dart from his chest – and kissing him better.
Jackson and Ethan have both been absent from the show for a few years, but will return to Beacon Hills for the final season in order to battle a group of hunters.
Ethan was openly gay during his initial appearance on the show, but Jackson was the love interest of female character Lydia during his appearance on the show.
Teen Wolf‘s creator Jeff Davis told Entertainment Weekly that he had been planning for Colton’s character to come out.
“I thought, if Jackson comes back, he’s coming back in a relationship with a guy,” Davis said. “Whether that means he’s bisexual or gay, that’s how he’s returning. I just felt like he went off to London and found himself.”
Colton told Entertainment Weekly that the reveal of Jackson’s sexuality “makes total sense” in the context of the character’s journey.
“That’s why Jackson carried around that angst.”
Former Attitude cover star Charlie said that the pair are “an odd couple”, addint that “[Colton’s] character’s always been kind of an arrogant prick, so I’m the one who tones him down.”
Colton adds: “They complement each other perfectly. They have a really beautiful relationship.”
Teen Wolf airs on MTV in the US on Sunday nights. The return of Jackson and Ethan can be seen on September 10.
