Ezra Miller reveals Hollywood execs warned him to not come out

By Joshua Haigh

Ezra Miller has lifted the lid on what it’s like to come out in Hollywood.

The Justice League actor gave an interview in 2012 where he came out , and in doing so he became one of the few openly queer leading men in Hollywood.

While it was such an incredible step, Miller has revealed in the latest issue of ShortList Magazine that if it were up to executives, it wouldn’t have happened at all.

He explained: “I was told, when I gave that interview [that] I’d made a mistake.”

“Folks in the industry, folks outside the industry. People I’ve never spoken to. They said there’s a reason so many gay, queer, gender-fluid people in Hollywood conceal their sexual identity, or their gender identity in their public image.

He added: “I was told I had done a ‘silly’ thing in… thwarting my own potential to be a leading man.”

On a lighter note, Miller went on to tease what some of his past lovers have nicknamed him, and despite his heartthrob-level good looks, lets just say that it’s not exactly flattering.

“I have been told by a few lovers that I resemble a baby dinosaur,” laughed the star. “I don’t know how to take that.”

A cute one at least, right?
