Major guest star set to return for Will & Grace revival
By Joshua Haigh
Will & Grace has added yet another guest star to its line-up.
The premiere of the show’s twelve-episode revival (which has already been renewed for a second season) is only weeks away, and we are beginning to see more of what we can expect from the new dose of our favourite foursome.
Minnie Driver, who appeared as Karen’s nemesis-turned-stepdaughter Lorraine Finster during the NBC sitcom’s original eight-season run —is set to reprise her role in an episode which will film next week.
Driver first appeared in Season Five as the mistress of Karen’s husband, Stanley Walker. Her father was played by legendary British actor, John Clease.
It comes following news that Karen’s fiery maid Rosario Salazar won’t feature in the upcoming revival.
“We really wanted Shelley to be a part of this series, so we find ourselves having to figure that out moving forward. It was not an easy decision to make, but it’s one that she made.”
Another character who sadly won’t be returning for the show’s ninth season is Grace’s mother, Bobbi Adler, following the death of actress Debbie Reynolds in December last year.
“That was another part of the story that we had to really spend time on addressing, all of the characters that existed in 198 episodes,” Mutchnick said.
Will & Grace premieres on September 28 on NBC in the US. There’s currently no word yet on a UK broadcaster.
