Policeman stops fight at gay bar and then performs Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive'

A policeman from Glasgow has gone viral after stopping a bar fight and then staying to perform Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’. According to the BBC Sergeant Jon Harris was initially called to the Waterloo Bar in Glasgow in order to deal with a disturbance involving a man and a woman.

However, when everything had been dealt with, Harris decided to stay and perform the classic song and even managed to incorporate some dance moves.

The audience cheered him on and when he finished, Harris bowed and received a standing ovation before leaving the bar and returning to his duty. Karaoke host, Katie Boyle took to Facebook to share the video which has since gone viral.

She wrote: “So I managed to get Sergeant Jon to sing in the Waterloo Bar today after a wee incident.”

“It was an accomplishment that I got him up to do it. He was brilliant and just goes to show not all bad can be said about Police Scotland.”

A few customers said that Harris had come in with some colleagues to speak about the incident.

“The pub was really busy. After he had done his duties the Karaoke host got him up to perform. He tried to stop after one verse but the crowd was loving it so he carried on. He was really good and had all the moves.”

But it gets better,

Gloria Gaynor took to Twitter to share her love of the performance.

She wrote: “I love this! Sergeant Jon Harris sang #iwillsurvive to smooth tensions in Glasgow pub after a brawl”.
