Watch | Tom Daley’s next fitness video covers the benefits of protein

It’s fast becoming a welcomed Friday tradition as Olympic diver Tom Daley has released another one of his online health and fitness videos.

From exploring the benefits of adding lemon juice to your water each morning after a good night’s sleep, and why you’ve been drinking your coffee completely wrong, the 21-year-old now has some thoughts on getting the right amount of protein into your diet each day.

Appearing in the video shirtless, Daley explains how protein helps your body rebuild and recover, especially after a workout. “The thing with protein, unlike carbohydrates and fat, is that our body doesn’t store protein, so there’s no back up reservoir for our body to draw from, when we need new supply,” he says.

“So keeping your protein levels topped up during the day is a crucial way of controlling your weight.”
