Gay-friendly church vandalised with homophobic and pro-Trump, pro-Nazi graffiti

By Will Stroude

Investigations are underway in Brown County, Indiana, after anti-gay, pro-Nazi and pro-Trump graffiti was sprayed on an LGBT-inclusive church on Sunday (November 13), WTHR-TV reports.

A swastika was spray-painted onto one wall, while the words “fag church” and “Heil Trump” were written on another.

According to reports, St David’s church has held at least one same-sex wedding, and, because is part of the Episopal Church, it is LGBT-inclusive.

Rev. Kelsey Hutto told WTHR-TV that the church won’t immediately remove the graffiti, believing that its presence could spark constructive conversation about issues facing America.

“Love conquers all hate, and that is our response – to be loving,” she said.

“I’d like it to be a symbol of hope that there’s a place for you, there’s a place to be welcomed.”

“We’re all created equal and we are all brothers and sisters in Christ and a hug is better than hate,” Gene Niednagel, the church’s rector, added.
