Mariah Carey has paid tribute to Manchester bombing victim Martyn Hett in a touching post on social media.
The singer admitted she was “devastated” by the death of the 29-year-old PR Manager from Stockport, who was a longtime fan.
Hett, a former Attitude contributor with a large social media following, often shared pictures of himself in Mariah-branded t-shirts, and wrote in his online Twitter bio that his life had “peaked” when he met the singer several years ago.
Carey had previously paid tribute to all the victims of Monday’s attack outside an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena, writing: “My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives in Manchester last night. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. God bless.”

Following yesterday’s tragic news that Hett was killed in the suicide bombing which claimed the lives of 22 people and injured almost 60 others, Carey took to social media to post a touching personal tribute.
Sharing a photo of Hett on Instagram in which he was wearing one of his many Mariah t-shirts, Carey wrote: “Devastated to learn that one of the victims in Manchester was part of the #Lambily. RIP Martyn Hett.
“We will cherish your memory forever. His family and all the families affected are in my thoughts and prayers. MC.”
The ‘Hero’ singer’s post was quickly spotted by Martyn’s brother Dan, who joked on Twitter: “I was a little dubious about Martyn’s recent bold social media move, but it worked.”
Dan, whose desperate appeal for information about Maryn’s whereabouts was shared thousands of times in the aftermath of the bombing, also thanked well-wishers for their support following confirmation of his brother’s death yesterday.
He wrote: “thanks for love and support, gang. had too many messages to reply to each (literally thousands) but I’m reading every single one. big love.”
