Lacoste unveil their L.12.12 shoe collection just in time for summer
By Umar Sarwar
Lacoste take a walk down memory lane with their new L.12.12 shoe collection, paying homage to Rene Lacoste’s original polo shirt designs.
Rene, whose nickname ‘Le Crocodile’ inspired the infamous logo, worked tirelessly to achieve ultimate sporting elegance and performance. In fact, the original Polo’s pique fabric was specifically used to enhance movement and improve performance, whilst still upholding a smart, sophisticated look- didn’t know that, did you?
It’s precisely this rich history which has been bottled up and creatively presented within the new shoe design. Sentimental touches can be seen with the use of super-premium leather, which is inspired by the clean lines of the court and a nod to Lacoste’s personal discrete and minimal aesthetic.
The collection offers six enviable colours adaptable to every man’s style. If you’re feeling bold then opt for a splash of red! Whilst, the classic white will help bring a clean, crisp finish to your outfit, one that Rene would surely approve.
We can’t decide what colour we like best here.
The shoes are priced at £125 and you can shop the collection now at Selfridges.com
