LGBT drama film Tomcat to be released on DVD next week

By Will Stroude

Since it justly won the Teddy Award for best LGBT* film at last year’s Berlin Festival, we’ve heard too little about Austrian director Klaus Händl’s impressively gutsy drama.

In an emotionally acute portrait of long-term gay coupledom, a sudden, inexplicable act of violence disrupts the comfy domestic bliss of middle-class Viennese orchestra workers Andreas (Philipp Hochmair) and Stefan (Lukas Turtur) and their adorable tabby cat, putting the men’s relationship under scrutiny.

Thankfully, British audiences don’t have long to wait until they can check out this gripping drama for themselves, as Tomcat finally comes to DVD next Monday (May 29).

Check out the trailer for Tomcat below and pre-order the DVD from Amazon here.
