X Factor’s Craig Colton and boyfriend ‘traumatised’ after suffering ‘homophobic’ knife attack at home

Former X Factor star Crag Colton has revealed that he and his boyfriend were subjected to a terrifying “homophobic” knife attack in their own home.
The 28-year-old singer described his and partner Shane Cooper’s horrific experience at the home they share in Kent on Twitter on Sunday (April 23).
“After a horrible night, of being attacked with a knife and homophobic rants at our own home, we find out the police can’t do anything,” Craig told concerned fans.
Shane added: “Completely traumatised about this scary & horrific incident that took place in our home at 3am! We have Never felt so in danger.”

Revealing the incident had left the couple afraid to return to their home, he wrote: “We are not at our home as feel in danger, both very sad and unsettled. Worse experience of our life’s! [sic]”
The pair say the incident took place at around 3am on Sunday morning (April), and involved a 20-year-old female with a knife, who has been arrested and released on bail.
A representative for Colton, who finished in sixth place on the 2011 series of The X Factor behind the likes of Little Mix and Marcus Collins, said in a statement: “Craig and Shane would like to thank everybody who has shown concern and sent love following recent events.
“Both Craig and Shane narrowly escaped the events unharmed but are limited on what the can confirm as they are still waiting for confirmation via the police.
“Craig and Shane have been working closely with police who have been very supportive.”
